Director and Managing Director of Institutional Fixed Income Sales

We have been retained to recruit high quality fixed income sales people who possess strong relationships with depository institutions. Our client is one the most stable but also fastest growing, full service brokerage firms in the country. It provides debt, equity and investment banking services to a wide array of clients utilizing a strong distribution network and an intense focus on client needs. Inspired by key additions to executive management in 2007, the firm has transformed the fixed income division into an industry leader.
The Fixed Income sales professional will levering a large capital base dedicated to bank qualified products; access to a wide range of taxable markets; a Municipals group that is currently top 10 in the Underwriting league tables; an excellent Trading team; a large distribution network of retail and institutional Financial Advisors in over 125 offices nationwide; and value-added services tailored to banks. The firm has the capability and currently services banks clients in the top 50, but has a concentrated effort with banks $25 bil. and below, and a sweet spot of $250 mil. to $5 bil.
This position is responsible for developing new and servicing existing depository institution client relationships. Sales professionals will be expected and have the opportunity to maximize their account coverage within a given geographical region. In addition to selling agencies, corporates, preferreds, and munis; FI sales professionals will be able to provide their clients with ancillary products such as certificates of deposit (CD) and structured product underwriting.
The ideal candidate will have a rolodex of relationships with executives at depository institutions and a book of business of at least $1 mil. annually, although all "A" quality individuals with upside will be considered. Although, a large institution, our client has a very community oriented culture that appeals to their bank client base in particular. Therefore, fixed income salesmen must function with professionalism, integrity, and be willing to embrace a team approach. A strong understanding of the bank balance sheet, asset/liability, and bank eligible investment products is essential. Current active licenses: Series 7 and 63.
