EVP, Director of Accounting Policy
Our client is a commercial bank with $10B+ in assets headquartered in an affluent, desirable Mid-Atlantic geography. It is a high-growth company with strong organic growth, thoughtful acquisitions, and several diverse business lines. The management team is of the highest quality and ethics and both the Chief Financial Officer and Chief Accounting Officer are impressive strategic leaders who have terrific experience working within the industry. Role may be designated SVP or EVP, based on the candidate. The Director of Accounting Policy, under general direction of the Chief Accounting Officer, anticipates, establishes, coordinates, and maintains accounting procedures that properly reflect the financial position and strategic mission of the bank of the Bank and the Corporation. This is a high-visibility role, and the bank will depend on this person’s knowledge of Accounting principles and standards as they continue to aggressively grow closer to $20B in assets and beyond. Additionally, this individual will assist senior management in key strategic projects and communicate with regulators and external auditors, and eventually manage a sizeable workforce, as the role could transform into their next Controller.
We are searching for a talented individual with 10+ years’ related experience, who has a deep understanding of GAAP, Financial Policy, and Internal Controls. Current or previous Audit firm experience that includes auditing of publicly-owned banks and/or previous accounting experience within a publicly owned bank is highly preferred. This person must have strong knowledge of regulatory reporting, SEC reporting, FDICIA, and SOX internal control requirements. CPA pretty much required.
